Relay for Life holds craft show
The Relay for Life held an arts and craft show on Saturday, November 18th at the Armory in Rugby. Relay For Life is the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Relay is staffed and coordinated by volunteers.
Sharon Pederson, a cancer survivor said “This is such a worthy cause. We need to fight cancer and find a cure.” Her quilt was a pattern of Scottish terrier dogs. This quilt was auctioned to the highest bidder on Saturday. :”Volunteers give of their time and effort because they believe it’s time to take action against cancer.” said Pederson.
Other quilts were donated by the Leeds Lutheran Quilters. “Our quilts are all hand made.” said Joyce Teigen who designs quilts.
This year’s show had a record total of 70 plus vendors. The Farmer’s Wife had cakes and goodies, Dakota Horseshoe Design was selling design art crafted from horseshoes by Chad and Kathy Bogar.
Proceeds from benefits help fund the local 2017 Relay for Life.
