WEB EXCLUSIVE: Emergency exercise planned for Monday

By Staff | Oct 6, 2017

Pierce County Emergency Management and other responders are planning an emergency exercise for Monday, Oct. 9, at 6:30 p.m.

The exercise will involve local responders surveying the area, including going door-to-door and searching backyards, for a missing child in the city of Rugby. Permission to search backyards will be gathered prior to the start of the exercise.

The location of the exercise, a particular part of the city, has been kept secret.

Exercises such as the one on Monday are used by local responders to test current response plans, identify items in the response plan that need to be changed, and also serve as practice for real events.

Pierce County Emergency Management wants residents to be aware that if responders are seen out Monday evening that it is an exercise.
