As of last week, a new in-home care option is now open in the area.

A grand opening celebration as well as ribbon cutting was held last week for FirstLight Home Care, located in Hartley’s Mall in Rugby.

FirstLight offers non-medical home care services for persons who are elderly, disabled, new mothers, recovering from surgery or in need of other assistance.

Owners Kristina & Mike Larson saw a need for home care in the community and reached out to the Harvey, Towner, Willow City, Bottineau and Minot areas to provide their services.

The goal is to help their clients live full, happy lives in the comfort of their own homes.

FirstLight comes to clients’ homes and visits with them to determine what their needs are. Clients are then matched with caregivers according to interests and needs.

Caregivers go through extensive training processes with background checks.

FirstLight also offers a patient portal, making it possible for families to log on and see how their family members are doing or if caregivers leave any messages.

Interested persons can visit FirstLight’s Rugby location, call 881-0101 or visit firstlighthomecare.com.
