Vintage Knots coming soon
Main Avenue in Rugby will soon see another business in operation.
Vintage Knots, owned by Carrie Schieve, will take up the front part of the former Only Deals building.
Schieve said Vintage Knots will carry a mix of products. Half of the product will be brought-in and the other half will be what she and her husband, Kendall, make. Products to be sold include home decor items, refurbished and custom furniture, jewelry, children’s and women’s clothing.
Some of the items brought in will come from persons Carrie has reached out to, as well as a couple from South Dakota sending in product to be sold in the shop.
“I want to bring as much to Rugby as I can,” Carrie said.
For Carrie, Vintage Knots began six years ago, after she started having children.
“I was looking for ways to be home with my kids but still have a career too,” Carrie said. “I wanted the best of both worlds.”
Carrie said she has always loved decorating and making things for the family home.
“As people have been seeing a little more they ask me, ‘Oh, can you make me one of those too?'” Carrie said.
One year after having her first child, Carrie decided to do Pierce County Relay for Life’s craft show.
“After I came home with only one thing I thought, ‘Hey, maybe I can make something out of this,'” Carrie said.
The name comes from Carrie’s love of vintage styles, as well refurbishing and making custom furnishings, home decor and things for holidays.
“It’s all kind of tied together with that vintage feel, hence the knots part,” Carrie said.
Carrie expects to open one to two weeks after July 4, or after all the shelving and displays which she and her husband have been building have been moving into the building. The business will be open Wednesday through Friday and every other Saturday.
