JDA denies support requests

By Staff | Jun 23, 2017

In a regular meeting Wednesday morning, the Rugby Job Development Authority’s board of directors denied requests for funding donations.

The board denied a request from the Rugby Dollars for Scholars chapter for support for the chapter’s annual gala and scholarship fundraiser, and a request for support from the Rugby Preliminary Scholarship Pageant. The requests were tabled during the May regular meeting.

The board briefly discussed the JDA’s “Walk the Property” event, which was held Tuesday on lots in Chalmer’s First Addition. Board member Tanner Johnson said that while the event did not get the attendance they hoped for, “we had the right people out there.”

The board approved May and June 5 meeting minutes, and the regular meeting agenda.

The board tabled the treasurer’s report until the next regular meeting, as Executive Director Liz Heisey was working on reconciliation of financials.
