36 bikes participated in Saturday’s Bike Run, part of Northside’s Motorhead Weekend

Northside Lounge’s Motorhead Weekend was a success, according to owner Steve Mattern.

The weekend-long event kicked off Thursday evening with Northside’s first Thursday Night Bike Night. The ride began at 7 p.m., heading to Towner.

Thursday Night Bike Night will continue, with rides every other Thursday at 7 p.m. The rides are Poker Run Style. The cost is $5, with 100% payout. Drawings will be at Northside Lounge at 10 p.m., after the ride, and winners must be present.

The next ride will be Thursday, June 8 to Wolford.

Motorhead Weekend continued Friday evening with the Cool Car and Bike Show.

Thirty-two cars and three motorcycles were entered into the show, which was a People’s Choice. The entry fee was $20, and all proceeds were donated to the Rugby Fire Department Auxiliary.

First place went to Matt Mattern, who won a $50 gift certificate. Second place was given to Mike Black, who received a $25 gift certificate. Third place was named to Shane Warner, who won a $15 gift certificate.

The weekend came to a close on Saturday, with a Bike Run starting at Northside and stopping at Kelvin Klinic in Dunseith, N8’s Place in St. John and both bars in Cando. The scheduled stop in Leeds was canceled due to weather.

“For everything that was going on, weather wise, it was a great weekend,” Mattern said.

Junction 281 provided live music at Northside both Friday and Saturday night.

Mattern says the lounge is planning to host another Motorhead Weekend towards the end of the summer.
