Hawk Museum’s farm show starts June 9
The annual Antique Farm Show will kick off a string of summer events on June 9 through June 11 at the Dale & Martha Hawk Museum.
This year’s celebration will feature Pioneer Women and John Deere. An added twist to the celebration will come in the form of the first-ever “kick off” on Thursday, June 8 at 7 p.m. The only explanation is that, “the shoe that goes the farthest wins.” A movie will follow.
The annual parades will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday.
There will also be a Friday night variety show and a Saturday night dance.
Throughout the weekend, the event will feature the activities of pioneer women.
A craft show and flea market will again accompany the celebration. Indoor and outdoor space is still available to rent by called 477-5522.
Other activities going on during each day are:
* Old time music.
* Saw mill work.
* Lumber planing work.
* Blacksmithing and a how-to school.
* Ice cream parlor.
* Kids activities.
Bring your appetite, because there will be several opportunities to dine. Martha’s Kitchen will be open and the Wolford Wildlife Club will also be grilling. A Snack Shack will be located near the saw mill.
On Sunday at 9 a.m. there will be a All Faiths Church service conducted by Teen Challenge.
Services provided on site include electric camping, shuttle to and from the parking lots, security by the Rolette County Sheriff’s Department and emergency medical services by the Rolette Ambulance.
There is an admission fee which includes a button that’s good for all three days of the event. Kids 12 and under get in free.
