Volunteers honored at HAMC luncheon

The Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon for the Heart of America Medical Center Volunteers was held on Thursday, April 27th at First Lutheran Church. In the past fiscal year 131 volunteers recorded over 8,211 hours at the Haaland Home, Acute Care, Long Term Care, Hospice and the Clinic.

The Volunteer of the Year went to Doris Tank , who has been volunteering at HAMC since 2011. Doris began volunteering in the craft club, works with the care center 3 to 4 times a week and more if needed. She helps with Bingo, plays many different card and board games with the residents and also helps with church. The activity and care center staff can always count on her for many special events.

This Volunteer currently is a member of the Auxiliary Board, Heart to Heart Gift Shop Manager, she helps with special events and is

co-chairperson for the singing valentines, this award for the most hours for the year was Gayle Schneibel who put in 523 hours. Gayle also received an award for the most accumulated hours at 9127.

Volunteer receiving their 50 hour pin was Alice Hersey; 100 hour certificates went to Elaine Schaan, Michelle Lake, Jeff Miller, Eileen Pietrick, Patsy Nicholson, Sheila Paul; 200 hour certificates went to; Rodney Berg, Sister Jean Louise; 300 hour certificates went to Mary Schmaltz, Joann Geisenger, Jane Gross, Karen Miller, Sandy Geiszler, Ann Mack, Jerry Thomas, Paula Binfet; 400 hour certificates went to Jane Ekren, Donna Christenson; 500 hour certificates went to Veronica Haman, Rose Selensky, Janel Schmaltz, Susan Harmel; 600 hour certificates went to Lois Volk, Jan Norsby, Peggy Oksendahl; 700 hour certificates went to Barbara Larson, Laurie Odden, Jackie Skipper; 800 hour certificates went to Janice Knutson, Mary Ann Koble, Doris Tank, Janet Johnston, Jusy Heintz, Richard Volk; 900 hour certificates went to Judy Axtman, Lynda Childress, Larry Pietrick; 1000 hour certificates went to Ann Hager, Delores Berg; 1100 hour certificates went to Delores Berg; 1200 hour certificates went to Sandy Mongeon, Christine Axtman, Arlene Schmaltz; 1300 hour certificate went to Deb Hoffert; 1400 hour certificate went to Joyce Meier; 1600 hour certificates went to Sid Nelson, Mary Schneider; 1800 hour certificates went to Marlene Schaan, Diane Leier; 1900 hour certificates went to Harriet Kreklau, Susan Anderson; 2100 hour certificate went to Leila Lehmann; 2600 hour certificate went to Frank Volk; 2800 hour certificate went to Kathryn Volk, Bev Paul; 3100 hour certificate went to Marge Heilman; 4700 hour certificate went to Ruth Fedge; 6100 hour certificate went to Vonnie Degenstein; 6600 hour certificate went to Alma Bickler; 8900 hour certificate went to Margaret Wittmayer and 9600 hour certificate went to Gayle Schneibel.
