Letter Carriers’ food drive to be May 13
The 25th anniversary of the National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger Letter Carriers’ Food Drive will be held Saturday, May 13 starting at 11:30 am.
Vonnie Degenstein from the Pierce County Food Pantry, along with volunteers, will be helping mail carriers pick up non-perishable food donations that will be delivered to the Pierce County Food Pantry.
“The mail carriers can’t pick up all that food, and since the donations come to the food pantry, I help them out,” Degenstein said.
Degenstein is asking for any boxed or canned food item donations, along with paper products.
People interested in participating can place donations into a box or bag and sit them near their mailboxes on the day. Someone will pick it up and deliver it to the food pantry.
