Second vehicle theft occurs in April

By Staff | Apr 21, 2017

After two vehicle thefts on Main Avenue just days apart, the Rugby Police Department is reminding residents to secure their vehicles.

Earlier this month, a vehicle was taken in front of Rugby’s City Hall. The vehicle was used in and recovered after a bank robbery in Stanley on April 7.

On Tuesday evening, a second vehicle was stolen from the 200 block of South Main Avenue, near Rockin’ Relics.

In both cases, keys were left in the vehicles.

The Police Department reminds residents to shut off their vehicles, remove the keys and lock their doors, even if residents are “running in for a second.”

Anyone with any information relating to either vehicle thefts are encouraged to call the police department at 776-6112.
