Connor Klein gets his wish (part two)
Connor Klein, 11, and his family boarded the Disney Dream Ship last week as part of Make-A-Wish granting his wish to go on a Disney Cruise Lines Cruise.
The family spent four nights on the ship, leaving from Port Canaveral in Florida. Stops included Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island, and Nassau, Bahamas.
The Disney Dream Ship offered many on-board activities, including a water coaster called the AquaDuck, character greetings, Goofy’s Sports Deck, fine dining, movie theaters and three pool areas.
“[Connor] had a blast!” Erin, Connor’s mother, said. “He was able to just be a kid and have some fun in the sun. The AquaDuck was one of his favorite parts.”
Make-A-Wish also offered off-board activities for the Klein’s, including a snorkeling adventure, tube floating, and more. The family was also able to spend a day at the beach.
“Watching [Connor] have an experience of just being a kid who is healthy enough to go and do this was the best part for me,” Erin said.
Connor was able to attend the cruise with his parents, Dale and Erin, and his siblings, Abby and Parker.
Erin said that she and her family have talked about how great it would be to help with other children’s wishes come true in the future, just as Make-A-Wish has helped Connor.
“Make-A-Wish is such a fabulous organization. They went far beyond anything that we could have expected them to do for Connor and our family. They’re incredible,” Erin said.
The Make-A-Wish mission is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
