Minot man burglarizes Rugby businesses
A Minot man was arrested on felony theft charges last week and is in custody in Pierce County.
Raymond Seaman faces charges of burglary and robbery both Class C felonies; theft of a motor vehicle a Class A felony; and misdemeanor theft of property.
According to a press release from the Rugby Police Department, police officers responded to a report of a gas drive-off at the Envision Convenience Store near U.S. Highway 2 in Rugby around 3 a.m. on Jan. 11. En route, the officer noticed a vehicle missing off the lot at D&S Motors.
Upon further investigation it was found that D&S Motors had been broken into and a set of keys for a 2016 Chevy Suburban was taken. A vehicle, later determined to be stolen from Minot, was left in the D&S lot.
Seaman allegedly stole property from the Envision store and threatened employees before driving off without paying for gas.
The Rugby officer and a Pierce County Deputy were able to locate the stolen vehicle and disable it using On-Star services as it was entering northwestern Benson County.
Seaman also faces charges in Ward County from an incident on Jan. 10.
