K & H Car Wash brings automatic washing to Rugby
Kevin and Hunter Allickson have opened an automatic car wash on Highway 2. This father-son duo, used to farming and ranching, decided that a car wash business was something they wanted to get into.
“My dad had the idea for a while. We farm and ranch, but with farming done, we though this would be a good time to bring it to the community,” Hunter, manager of the wash, said. “We thought the community would like it.”
This touchless car wash offers three options to customers. Deluxe, which costs $9, is a basic soap wash. Premium, which costs $10, uses triple foam conditioner. Extreme, which costs $11, uses Rain-X to visibly reduce spots and streaks and leave a high gloss finish. The Extreme wash also features wax.
After graduating, Hunter didn’t know if he wanted to go to school or stay home. Once the car wash opened, his decision was made easy. “It’s exciting to start a new business and see it become something,” he said. “It’s definitely different from farming and ranching.”
K & H Car Wash is open Monday through Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and is located next to the Oakwood Inn near Cenex.
The Allicksons would like to thank Steve Dockter, General Manager of Farmers Union Oil Company, who leased them the land for the car wash. They would also like to thank Merchants Bank and the JDA for all of their help.
