Crash near Drake injures five

By Staff | Aug 12, 2016

Five Puerto Rican males were injured last week in a rollover crash seven miles north of Drake.

Felipe Vargas, 41; Louis Medina, 37; Angel Gonzalez, 53; Edwin Cruz, 47; and Daniel Roman, 44, were transported to Trinity Hospital in Minot with varying degrees of injury after a 2001 Chevy Suburban driven by 45-year-old Julio Perez-Medina, also of Puerto Rico, went into the east ditch on Highway 14 and rolled.

Perez-Medina was northbound when he swerved to avoid an animal on the road. He over-corrected and lost control, entering the ditch.

Of the five injured, two wore seatbelts.

The crash is under investigation by the N.D. Highway Patrol.
