Community organizations receive RCEF funds

The Rugby Community Endowment Fund awarded over $14,000 in grants to nonprofit organizations in the city for 2016.

The organization awarded $700 to the Rugby Lions Club for Music in the Park; $2,510 to the Rugby High School’s instrumental music department for the replacement of musical instruments; $4,500 to the Ely Elementary School’s music department for the purchase of a clavinova for the classroom; $2,000 to the Good Samaritan Hospital Association for the replacement of an oven in the dietary department at the Heart of America Medical Center; $1,871.12 to the Rugby Public School District for a summer science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) camp for students in grades 3-5; $900 to Tri-County Senior Meals; $1,000 to the Growing Place Daycare to shingle their roof; $500 to the Rugby Hockey Association for parking lot repairs; and $500 to the Geographical Center Historical Society for building improvements.

Endowment fund board members are Dale Niewoehner, Theone Stevenson, Bob Wilmot, Galen Mack and Kyle Nelsen.
