Sunday is Cleaning Day at the Museum
Sunday, May 1, is Cleaning Day at the Museum. Service clubs and helpers of all ages are welcome to help prepare Prairie Village Museum for its 51st season.
Cleaning commences at noon and continues until 4 p.m. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their favorite cleaning tools and lawn rakes. Cleaning products will be provided. No experience is necessary. Food and beverages will be provided throughout the day.
“When everyone pitches in, we can accomplish a lot in an afternoon,” said executive director Cathy Jelsing. “It’s actually a fun day.”
Non-museum members are welcome to participate, but memberships will be available for purchase. “We have a great season coming up and members are admitted free plus, as members, they can claim ownership of this wonderful community institution,” Jelsing said.
The museum opens for school tours May 2 and to the general public on May 15.
Cleaning Day is hosted by the Friends of Prairie Village Museum. For more information on this and other upcoming events, visit prarievillagemuseum.com, call 776-6414, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
