Rugby Native is First AhundyP Experience Recipient
On Saturday, Jan. 16, Matthew Bohl’s dream of seeing a UND hockey game in person came true. As part of AhundyP’s Experience program, Matthew’s day at Ralph Engelstad Arena consisted of a private viewing of UND men’s hockey morning skate, tour of the arena (including locker room and press area), dinner accommodations on suite level, center ice seats for the game, and a night’s stay in a Grand Forks hotel.
Bohl, 25, of Rugby, was born with Spina Bifida (split spine), which has left him in a wheelchair his entire life. He was also born with Congenital Hydrocephalus (excessive brain fluid) and a seizure disorder. Because of his perseverance through many medial hardships and exceptional giving spirit, he was chosen for this unique experience.
“Matt is unique in the fact that when he contacted us, he did so not out of wanting something for himself, he did so out of wanting to do something for somebody else” said Brett McClintock, an associate with AhundyP clothing. It was because of this selfless attitude that we felt Matt would be the perfect recipient for the AhundyP Experience.”
Every AhundyP experience is different and is tailored specifically to the interests of the recipient. The experience program is funded through the sale of AhundyP apparel and merchandise as a portion of each item sold is set aside to make extraordinary experiences happen for individuals that truly deserve it.
