Five people were arrested on theft, drug and other charges after a vehicle chase on Christmas Eve.
According to a press release from the Pierce County Sheriff’s department, 21-year-old Silas Cavanaugh, 30-year old Kami Birdhorse, both of St. Michael; 38-year-old Joseph Thumb, of Oberon; 42-year-old James Greywater and 29-year-old Kelli Birdhorse, both of Fort Totten, have been charged with theft of property, possession of methamphetamine paraphernalia, fleeing in a motor vehicle, refusal to halt, ingestion of a controlled substance, reckless endangerment and driving under suspension.
A Pierce County deputy attempted a traffic stop on the suspects, who were in a white Chevrolet pickup traveling eastbound on Highway 2. The vehicle came to a halt after being stuck in the snow east of Baker. The occupants exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot.
