Commission Approves Salary Caps

By Staff | Jan 1, 2016

The Board of County Commissioners approved a market rate for adjusting salaries, with a cap.

The board voted to put in place a $5,000 cap in this year’s budget for employees needing adjustments based on the results of a salary study.

The board had a motion during its Dec. 15, 2015 meeting to approve the study, done by Cariveau Workforce Services, and adjust rates based on 95 percent of a regional market.

“A lot of good things did come out of this,” Chairman David Migler said of the study.

A cap was not put in place during the Dec. 15 meeting. Some board members felt that all adjustments that needed to be made could not be done in a year and felt a cap in adjustments was necessary.

OTHER ACTIONS

The board approved appointing Karin Fritel to the vacant clerk of court position. The position was previously held by Coleen Stutrud, who resigned.
