Rugby Man Injured in Crash

By Staff | Nov 13, 2015

A Rugby man was injured last week in an angled crash one mile from Knox.

A 2000 Buick LeSaber, driven by 27-year-old Christopher Dupuis of Rugby, and a 2014 GMC Yukon, driven by 35-year-old Joshua Johnson with five passengers, all of Oakes, were westbound on Highway 2 when the LeSaber attempted a left turn from the right lane. It then struck the Yukon, causing severe right front damage, and ended up facing northeast in the median.

The roadway was wet with melting snow, and the weather was cloudy with light snow.

Dupuis was transported to the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby and later to the hospital in Minot for treatment. No one in Johnson’s vehicle was injured.

Criminal charges are pending for Dupuis.

The Pierce and Benson County Sheriff’s offices, Golden Heart EMS, Rugby Rural Fire District and the N.D. Highway Patrol responded to the crash.
