Pierce County to Have New Deputy

A Rugby police officer will soon be getting a new uniform.

Starting Monday, Oct. 19, Officer Russell Anthony will work for the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department as a deputy. He will replace Jason Sanderson, who left employment with the department in September.

Anthony has more than a year of police experience, having worked in Williston before coming to Rugby.

Sheriff Josh Siegler said he looking forward to working with Anthony.

“We’re all in the same building, we know each other,” Siegler said. “I think it’s going to be a great fit.”

The Rugby Police Department and the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office are currently housed in the joint law enforcement center in Rugby.
