Last Week’s Court Cases

Clarence Michael Clauthier, a.k.a. Clarence Michael Dubois, a.k.a. Clarence Michael Two Hearts, 35, of Grand Forks, pleaded guilty to fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, reckless endangerment, both class C felonies, and driving while license privilege is suspended. He was sentenced to a chemical dependency evaluation, 22 months probation, one year confinement with the Department of Corrections, with 275 days suspended and 54 days credit for time served, 54 days confinement at Heart of America Correctional & Treatment Center with credit for 54 days served, and $500 in fees.

Rayce Kody Jaeger, 31, Towner, pleaded guilty to theft of property, a class C felony, and DUI of Alcohol or w/ BAC of .08 percent or greater, a class B misdemeanor. He was sentenced to a chemical dependency evaluation and treatment, no contact with his victim, two years supervised probation, $4,051 in restitution and confinement with the Department of Corrections for two years, with six months suspended, 27 days credit for time served and 30 days at HACTC with 27 days credit for time served and one year unsupervised probation.

Jennifer M. Ebach, 32, Rugby, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and simple assalt, both class B misdemeanors. She was sentenced to 13 days confinement at HACTC with 13 days credit for time served. She also pleaded guilty to disobedience of a judicial order, a class A misdemeanor, and was sentenced to complete a chemical dependency evaluation, complete treatment, two years unsupervised probation, $300 in fees and one year confinement at HACTC with 352 days suspended and 13 days credit for time served.

George Elmer Perronteau, 59, Belcourt, pleaded guilty to two counts of issuing a check or draft without sufficient funds or credit. He was ordered to pay $77.09 and $75.23 in fees and restitution.

Josip Branislav Babic, 23, Rugby, pleaded guilty to ingesting a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor, and driving while license is under revocation, a class B misdemeanor. He was sentenced to 30 days confinement at HACTC with eight days credit for time served.

Jay Lee Houle, 26, Rugby, pleaded guilty to ingesting a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor, possession of drug paraphernalia and preventing arrest or discharge of other duties. both class C felonies. He was sentenced to 23 days confinement at HACTC with 23 days credit for time served, three years confinement with the Department of Corrections with one year suspended and 74 days credit for time served, two years supervised probation, and must seek treatment at Tompkins Rehabilitation & Correction Center while incarcerated. He also pleaded guilty to physical obstruction of a government function, a class A misdemeanor, and was sentenced to 76 days confinement at HACTC with 76 days credit for time served.

James Joseph Pochant, 23, Rugby, pleaded guilty to criminal trespass, a class A misdemeanor. He was sentenced to $933.70 in fees, chemical dependency evaluation, unsupervised probation, and was ordered to not consume, purchase or possess alcohol/controlled substances during probation, notify court of address change and complete treatment.

Dylan James Morin, 19, Rugby, pleaded guilty to issuing a check or draft without sufficient funds or credit. He was ordered to pay $149.68 in fees and restitution.

Anthony K. Olson, 34, Rugby, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, a class B misdemeanor, and not guilty to possession of a controlled substance, schedule II, a class C felony. While the latter charges were dismissed, Olson was sentenced to 30 days confinement at HACTC with 110 days credit for time served.

Alexis Rae Williamson-Ellis, 21, pleaded not guilty to charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, methamphetamine, a class A felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a class C felony. Both charges were dismissed.
