Museum Camp Has Native American Theme
Just a few spots remain in “Exploring the Chippewa Way,” this year’s Museum Camp at Prairie Village Museum. The day-camp for kids ages 7 to 12 meets Aug. 3-7 and Aug. 9.
Ojibway language expert Alex DeCoteau, a teacher at Turtle Mountain Community School, Belcourt, is this year’s camp leader. He’ll be sharing Chippewa customs and legends and teaching common Chippewa phrases. Campers will be making equipment for and learning how to play several Ojibway games and will demonstrate what they have learned Aug. 9 at the museum’s 30th annual Village Fair. For more information, call the museum at 776-6414.
