Felony Arrests Made in Rugby Area
The Rugby Police Department arrested two individuals last week on felony charges.
Nicole Lee Haggerty, Rugby, was arrested on charges of theft of property and forgery in excess of $1,000, both class C felonies. Haggerty was accused, according to a police department press release, of forging, passing and receiving profits from forged and closed account checks at three Rugby businesses in amounts totaling $1,447. According to Rugby Police Chief John Rose, the incident is still under investigation.
An initial appearance has been scheduled for Haggerty for Monday, July 27, at 10 a.m.
Matt Gensler was arrested near Hi-Way MVP in Rugby after confirmation of a felony warrant from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections. According to a press release, the department received a call about a suspicious person at MVP. Gensler, who had been convicted of burglary and armed with a dangerous weapon, had been hitchhiking through the area.
