Two area students placed at the 63rd Annual State Class B Speech Tournament held last week at Mandan High School.

Paige Johnson, a Leeds High School senior, and Rebekah Wangler, a Rugby High School junior, took seventh and eighth, respectively, in Radio Broadcasting, one of 14 categories at the tournament.

Out of more than 30 schools at the meet, Richardton-Taylor took first place, Carrington second and Bowman County took third as a team in the tournament. Teri Egan, of Enderlin/Maple Valley HS, took home Coach of the Year.

The tournament is sponsored by the North Dakota High School Activities Association, and results can be found on their website, NDHSAA.com or NDHSAAnow.com.
