Mea Culpa and Thank You
I want to take this time to apologize for parking on Main Street this past week when the Public Works Department is scheduled to street sweep. I was given ample warning and I have no other excuse than to say that I forgot and I am sorry for my rudeness. It is the Public Works Department’s responsibility to keep the City of Rugby clean and they are diligent in doing so. The last thing they need is to be hindered by my not obeying the rules of parking on the street during certain times, which are Monday 1:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. and Friday 1:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Again, I am sorry and it should not happen again; thank you for your understanding. I also want to thank the Rugby Police Department for the warning ticket. It was greatly appreciated and I think admirable for a police department to warn an individual who they could only assume was a guest in town because of the out-of-state plates. Instead of ticketing an outsider they showed a willingness to understand that a guest of the city may not know all the rules and thus gave a warning. What a wonderful welcome to all those who visit Rugby. This consideration is not often given in other municipalities.
