Pierce County Endowment Fund seeks grant applications

By Staff | Oct 3, 2014

The Pierce County Endowment Fund will be giving out more than $4,000 in grants to local organizations that do charitable work in Pierce County. Applicants must be designated by the IRS as 501(c)(3) nonprofit tax exempt groups, or government agencies. Groups without such designation seeking to apply may enlist a fiscal sponsor.

Application forms and more information are available online at NDCF.net/PierceCounty. Applications are due by Nov. 1, and should be mailed to the Pierce County Endowment Fund, PO Box 135, Rugby, N.D. 58368. The Pierce County Endowment Fund advisory committee will discuss the applications and determine grant awards.

Last year’s grant recipients included the Tri County Senior Meals & Services – $1,200 for nutrition services for senior citizens; Geographic Center Historical Society – $1,200 to support family programming at the museum; and Growing Place Daycare – $1,200 to provide a shaded outdoor play area.

The Pierce County Endowment Fund was established in 1982 as a component fund managed by the North Dakota Community Foundation. Earnings from the fund are given as grants every year to organizations that improve the quality of life for residents of Pierce County.

Donations to the fund are welcomed and accepted at any time of year to help grow the endowment fund. Certain donations may qualify for a 40 percent state tax credit, in addition to your federal tax savings. For more information, contact the North Dakota Community Foundation at 222-8349.
