Ramsey National Bank of Rugby is hosting an AARP Smart Driver course on Sept. 10. The course will run from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The course will be held at Dakota Farms Restaurant on U.S. 2 in Rugby. To pre-register for the course call 776-5766.

This course teaches valuable defensive driving strategies and provides a refresher on rules of the road. Drivers learn research-based tips to adapt their driving to compensate for physical and cognitive changes that may occur with aging. There are no tests to pass.

Cost of the course is $15 for AARP members or $20 for non-members. Although the course is geared toward drivers 50 and older, it can be taken by licensed drivers of all ages.

An online course is available at a cost of $17.95 for members and 21.95 for non-members. To take the online course, go to aarp.org/drive.

Those who complete the course may be eligible for a discount on their auto insurance premiums.
