FFA teams compete at state land judging

Park River – The Rugby FFA Chapter recently traveled to Park River to compete in the North Dakota FFA state land judging competition.

Rugby FFA brought two teams consisting of Devin Volk, Abagail Volk, Cade Heilman, Clay Vannett, Mckenzie Johnson, Matty Koenig, Josh Pfeifer and Kurt Pfau.

The students judged four different pieces of land consisting of different slopes, soil depths and soil textures. Rugby had a great showing by placing third and eighth and earning gold and silver team honors.

Vannett was the top Rugby individual of the day placing seventh overall.
