The Rugby Area Chamber of Commerce’s Volunteer of the Month award for July goes to Mark Voeller for his involvement in the Rugby Fire Department for the last 23 years, the Park Board, being on the Little Flower School Board, Rugby Jaycees and church council to name a few. The people Voeller works with all agree he is extremely community oriented.

Holly Niemi, who volunteers at Lyric Theatre, is very appreciative of his help.

“He is always willing to help out at the theatre,” Niemi said.

Brad Odden, who is on the fire department, said Voeller is a hard worker and very involved at the fire department

“Mark takes his job very seriously,” Odden said.

Voeller credits his father for instilling a passion for community involvement.

“My dad helped out a lot of people, I guess that’s why I’m as involved as I am,” Voeller said. “It was just how I was raised.”

Voeller is also very grateful to Otter Tail Power Company, where he works.

“They have been very accommodating over the years, allowing me to be involved in these organizations,” Voeller said.
