LFS Casavant’s project at state fair

Lauren Casavant, a young entrepreneur from Little Flower School, will be showcasing “Lauren’s Loominous Creations” (Lauren’s business idea of making and selling bracelets, rings,and lanyards using loom bands) at the Marketplace for Kids Bright Ideas Showcase and Contest during the North Dakota State Fair.

You can visit Lauren along with the invention “Lauren’s Loominous Creations” from 10:15 a.m. through 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the State Fair Center.

Kristina Brossart, of Rugby, will have her innovative dog sled displayed during the same time.

The Bright Ideas Showcase and Contest is a statewide program of Marketplace for Kids and a wonderful opportunity for our participants to take their innovative ideas to the competitive level. The Bright Ideas Showcase and Contest is a one day competition where students have the opportunity to display their inventions, business/innovative ideas, provide a short presentation to judges, receive feedback, and compete to win prizes.

First, second, and third place awards will be given to participating grade levels in the Invention, Technology, Language Arts and Business Idea Categories. Special awards may also be given to deserving projects for Innovation in the area of Energy, Agriculture, Sports, Most Creative and Best New Idea. Dr. Lowell Latimer and the Minot chapter of S.C.O.R.E will be the judging team.

Marketplace for Kids has been providing young entrepreneurship education since 1995.
