Submitted photo Rugby Jaycees president Chad Hager presents Prairie Village Museum executive director Cathy Jelsing with a check for $5,000 to be used for the completion of a new exhibit space and improvements to guest facilities at the Rugby museum.

The Rugby Jaycees donated $5,000 to Prairie Village Museum in Rugby for completion of the museum’s new exhibit space and improvements to visitor services at the museum. This is the largest single contribution by a local organization or business that the museum has received in several years.

The funds will be used for the installation of gallery lighting and for electrical, plumbing and carpentry materials and labor in the main entrance building at the museum.

“We are happy and honored to receive this kind of support from the Jaycees,” said Cathy Jelsing, executive director of the museum. “We know this is an active, youthful organization, so to have their endorsement for improvements we’re making at the museum means a great deal to the historical society board and staff.”

Rugby Jaycees charitable donations are made possible through net-proceed gaming operations at I.C. Dubbles and Third Street Station.
