Rick Larson, Rick Srur and Tim Chapman were voted into the three available at-large seats for City of Rugby Park Board.

Chapman, the editor of the Tribune, received 551 votes, Srur had 516 and Larson 503. A total of 24 write-in votes were cast. Of the total votes cast, Chapman received 34.57 percent, Srur 32.37 percent and Larson 31.56 percent.

Larson has been on the park board since the early 1990s.

“I hope to keep up with the maintenance involved with the city’s parks, including the walking path and working on the community building at the fairgrounds,” Larson said.

Srur, who was on the park board from 1994-2006 and returned 2010, also hopes to finish the community building at the fairgrounds and take care of the walking path.

“I will do the best I can for the community,” Srur said.

This will be Chapman’s first term on the park board. Phyllis Johnson chose not to run again. “I am pleased with the voter turnout. Even though I ran unopposed, I am confident in my abilities to advocate for the public and work to improve and keep Rugby’s parks beautiful.”
