Hager coming soon
Nashville-produced Valley City native Greg Hager is next up in this year’s Music in the Park series.
Hager will perform what he calls “Western country with a touch of gospel”.
“It’s easy-going,” Hager said of his music. “It’s more of what you think country should sound like.”
Hager is no stranger to being underneath the gazebo, having performed in Rugby back in 2009.
“It’ll be a lot of fun to be back,” Hager said
Influenced by 12-string guitarists and the likes of John Denver, Clint Black, George Strait and others, Hager learned to play guitar when he was 7 years old. He has gone on to release seven albums of original songs, becoming the only North Dakota artist to do so, according to a fact sheet sent to the Tribune.
Four of his albums can be considered western country, two of them are country gospel. Hager also has a Christmas album in his catalog.
Hager was nominated three times for the Western Artist of the Year award by the Academy of Western Artists.
Hager will perform under the gazebo in Ellery Park on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Also at that time, Lions club members will be scooping free ice cream. Tune into KZZJ in the event of inclement weather for info regarding an alternate site.
