Park board expresses walking path, tree concerns

By Staff | May 23, 2014

At a meeting of the Rugby Park Board on Monday, the walking path post-Chalmers Addition construction was of concern.

The walking path incurred damage from heavy equipment. The board stressed the importance of returning it to its original condition.

The board also discussed tree removal in Ellery Park. Nine trees were removed after board members learned the trees’ insides were half-rotten. To prevent destruction and/or injury to children, the monkey bars near the trees were also uprooted.

The board contributed to Music in the Park, and the board talked about progress on bathroom construction at Jaycees Park. The bathrooms are nearly complete, with some electrical and plumbing still in progress.
