Sons of Norway

plan celebration

May 17, 2014 will be a day of special significance in Norway. It will mark the 200th anniversary of the signing of Norway’s constitution, which took place on May 17, 1814 in Eidsvoll, Norway.

On Syttende Mai (17th of May), celebrations of Norway’s historic event will take place all over their country. Children and their parents will march in parades. Norwegian flags will be waving and children will be singing. There will be events and festivities throughout 2014 celebrating Norway’s bicentennial.

Locally, members of the Odin Sons of Norway Lodge, also, will help celebrate the 200th anniversary of Norway’s constitution day. They will host an open house, to which the public is invited, on Friday, May 16, from 1-3:30 p.m. at the North Star Community Credit Union (Hwy 2 East) in Rugby.
