Roaring Affair set for May 1

By Staff | Apr 25, 2014

The Rugby Northern Lights Lions will host its first Roaring Affair on Thursday, May 1. This event is new to the Northern Lights Lions and is anticipated to run quarterly. This month the affair will be held at the home of Lion Sandy Wurgler of 210 Heritage Circle in Rugby. Come as you are between 5 p.m. And 7 p.m.

A Roaring Affair is a casual social event to share conversation, beverage and tidbits. A $10 donation will be taken at the door and will be used to support worthy Rugby programs. Proceeds from the first Roaring Affair will benefit the Prairie Village Museum. There will also be a featured door prize for those in attendance. This month will be a fabulous May basket valued at over $50.

Wurgler started the Northern Lights Lions in 2009. The chapter meets once a month and serves as a wonderful addition to the community of Rugby. The Northern Lights Lions hold the annual Art, Wine & Beer Fest that provides gas cards to cancer patients in our community, as well as providing support to the Domestic Violence Crisis Center, Meals on Wheels and Lyric Theater, to name a few. New members are always welcome.

Guests are encouraged to RSVP as space is limited. For questions or to RSVP please contact Sandy at 208-0963 or check us out on Facebook.
