Ivy Senger, daughter of Jason and Misti Senger, is content with just one egg at the Jaycees Easter Egg Hunt on April 19 at Ellery Park in Rugby.

It wasn’t the warmest morning, but nary a drop of a rain nor flake of snow was in sight at the Rugby Jaycees annual Easter Egg Hunt at Ellery Park on April 19.

About 250 children took part in the event following a showing of just 150 in less favorable weather in 2013.

Children three years and younger got the first run of the park and paid little attention to the wind, racing to the more than 2,100 eggs filled with tasty treats.

Two more groups of kids – as old as 10 – from across the area and beyond followed suit to the delight of onlookers and many eager photographers.

The Jaycees provided 185 prize baskets and three grand prizes.

Ryann Senechal, daughter of Garth and LaRae Senechal, can’t wait to add to the pile of eggs growing in a bag held by her father.

Henry Anderson of Bismarck won a children’s picnic table. Lauren Burkharts-meier and Denae Lashman won bicycles.

The Jaycees have held the event for about 15 years, according to organizers.
