Rugby man loses house in fire
A Rugby man lost his house northeast of town to fire on Sunday evening, according to fire officials.
Fire chief David Schneibel Jr. said fire fighters were called around 8 p.m. on Sunday evening to a house owned by Johnnie Sander.
When they arrived, the two-story farmhouse was already engulfed in flames.
“It was a structure fire,” Schneibel said. “No one was living there. He was using it for storage.”
Rugby Ambulance and the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office also assisted on the scene.
Schneibel said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
