Extension office hires new assistant

By Staff | Apr 8, 2013

The part-time administrative assistant position in Pierce County Extension Office is no longer vacant. Heidi Hjelmstad accepted the job and began her duties as administrative assistant on Tuesday, February 19, 2013. She comes to us with a background in child care with Easter Seals Goodwill where she provided care to mentally and physically disabled children. Her other work experience includes work as a bank teller and medical office assistant. Throughout her school years she was involved in McHenry County 4-H and Towner FFA. She is also completing online coursework to earn her Associate of Applied Science degree in the Accounting Technician program at Dakota College in Bottineau.

Heidi is a welcome and much needed addition to the Pierce County Extension Office. Heidi’s face will be the first face clients see and the first voice they hear when they visit or call the Pierce County Extension office on the days when she is in the office. In addition to general office management duties, some of Heidi’s major job responsibilities will include maintenance of mailing lists, the ND Pesticide Program database, the 4-H Online Program database, and soon-to-come updated website. Heidi will also assist with special programs such as Private Applicator Training, Field Days/Plot Tours, and 4-H events.
