HAMC Salad Luncheon Rocks!
HAMC Women’s Auxiliary Salad Luncheon a Huge Success
The Heart of America Medical Center Auxiliary Salad Luncheon which was held on Thursday, March 14th at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rugby was a huge success. The auxiliary raised just over $1,900 (of this $400 was from supplementary funds provided by Thrivent). The ladies served 228 people with a variety of 55 different salads that were prepared and donated by HAMC volunteers. The funds raised will be used to help purchase three high/low beds for the Care Center at a cost of $5,200. This will mark the 18th year that the auxiliary has organized the Salad Luncheon. The first one was held in the spring of 1995 in the Ottertail meeting room. According to Linda Kay Duchscher, Volunteer Services Director at HAMC, “We had to move the location after a few years because it was always so successful.” The auxiliary also took the opportunity during the Salad Luncheon to present Jeff Lingerfelt, CEO at HAMC with a $2,000 donation to go towards the purchase of the wheelchair van for the Care Center.
