Rugby Lions wrap up Project Joy
Rugby Lions Project Joy wrapped up distribution of Christmas gifts to needy families in the Rugby Area at Dakota Farms Banquet Facility. This year 55 families with 163 individuals were served. The Pierce County Food Pantry worked with the Rugby Lions to identify disadvantaged families in our area. Wish list tags were put on trees set up at Shopko, Borth’s Department Store and Rugby Hardware Hank. Again this year, the Warm Coats for Project Joy was added and over 30 gently worn coats were given out. The Rugby Lions want to thank the many families, church groups, school children, businesses and other service groups that made this project a huge success. A big thank you to Ely Elementary School, Little Flower School, Rugby Jaycees, Barton Sportsman’s Club, Rugby Senior Citizens, Thrivent Lutheran, Center Mutual Insurance, St Paul Lutheran Ladies and North Central Electric Cooperative.
It was heartwarming to see the giving spirit in the Rugby area and to see the gratefulness of those in need.
