Rugby teen to compete in pageant
Kourtney Marie Sattler is always game for a new experience.
The eighth-grader at Rugby High School will get that opportunity on Nov. 18 when she competes in the Miss North Dakota Teen USA Pageant in Fargo.
Sattler received a some mail from Future Productions, which promotes the pageant, took it home and opened it up.
“It was just something new I wanted to try and I’m always up for doing new things,” Sattler said.
The competition will include three equal portions: evening gown competition, fitness/swimwear and an interview.
“I’m most excited for the evening dress and the one I’m most nervous for is the interview,” she said.
The winner of Miss North Dakota Teen USA will be able to compete for the Miss Teen USA title and there are also thousands of dollars in scholarships and prizes on the line.
Sattler has 28 local businesses that have sponsored her entry into the pageant.
She wanted to thank them all as well as her family. Her mother and grandmother will be accompanying her to Fargo.
“I would like to send a huge thank you and a big hug to all my family and friends for supporting and believing in me,” she said. “Love you guys.”
