Rugby Fire Department Auxiliary makes donations

By Staff | Nov 23, 2012

The Rugby Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary recently donated $1,600 to the Rugby Volunteer Fire Department for the purchase of pagers. The Auxiliary also recently donated $500 for the purchase of emergency scene signs and $295 to the Pierce County Emergency Management department for the purchase of texting software on behalf of the department.

The Auxiliary, in its second year of operation, recently obtained IRS 501(c)(3) charitable status, which allows tax exempt donations as permitted based on IRS guidelines. The funds raised by the Auxiliary are used to support the Fire Department in various ways including equipment purchases.

The Auxiliary does several fundraisers throughout the year including breakfasts, a gun raffle and other events to help raise funds for the department.
