New editor at the Pierce County Tribune

By Staff | Oct 14, 2012

Chris Bieri has been named Editor/General Manager of the Pierce County Tribune.

Bieri was born and raised in Minot and is a graduate of Minot High School, Brown College’s broadcasting program and Minnesota State University-Moorhead.

“I’m looking forward to this opportunity,” Bieri said. “Growing up in Minot, I’m familiar with the the area, but am really excited to get to know the residents, become active in the community and produce a quality newspaper.”

Bieri has nearly eight years of experience working at daily newspapers, including the Minot Daily News and the Grand Forks Herald.

At the Minot Daily, Bieri worked as a sports writer before taking on the sports editor role at the beginning of 2010.

For the past year, he worked at the Grand Forks Herald as a crime and city beat reporter and multimedia producer.

“I am very pleased we were able to find someone as qualified as Chris to be the Editor/GM of the Pierce County Tribune,” said Regional Publisher Steve Herron. “Chris has a well-rounded portfolio of news reporting and he brings that extra dimension of extensive sports writing experience that should be well received in the community.”

Bieri replaces Terri Kelly Barta, who had been the Pierce County Tribune’s editor since 2010.
