Little Flower gets new Superintendent

By Staff | Jul 31, 2012

On Monday, August 13, Charles B. “Charley” Epperson will be in his new office as superintendent of Little Flower School. He and his wife Beverly, who is a remedial math teacher in Harvey, will live in their home in Harvey, and he will make the commute to Rugby.

“I’m looking forward to working in the school in Rugby,” Epperson said. It will be his first experience in a private school.

However, Epperson is quite experienced, both as a teacher and an administrator. He taught for a year in Fort Yates, and for 14 years in Hooper Bay, Alaska. He was a residential administrator at Mount Edgecumbe in Sitka, Alaska. For five years he taught, for five years he took on dual roles as a principal and an educator, and then for four years he was an administrator.

“I think I am a better administrator,” he said.” I’m just an average teacher.” Epperson has a bachelor’s degree in physical education with a minor in coaching activities. He has a master’s degree in K-12 public school administration from the University of Alaska-Anchorage.

The Eppersons have five children, 3 boys and 2 girls, Kateri, Travis, Rocky, Jason and Misty. Kateri lives in Bismarck and works for the Post Office. Travis, who is a father of two boys, is an apprentice electrician in Minot. Rocky, Vancouver, Wash., is a narcotics detective. Jason, Colorado Springs, works in disaster cleanup. Misty is a junior at Harvey High School this fall.

Epperson enjoys fishing, playing guitar, and writing stories, essays and songs in his free time.
