Vehicle rollover takes life of young mother
A one vehicle rollover took the life of a young mother from Rugby on late Sunday evening.
The Pierce County Law Enforcement Center received a call reporting an accident, at approximately 11:15 p.m. A passerby dialed 9-1-1 when they discovered the rollover while driving by on a gravel road northeast of Rugby.
Emergency personnel responded and found the driver, who had been ejected from the vehicle after her car appeared to have struck a deer on the roadway, then entered the ditch and rolled, according to a report released by the Pierce County Sheriff’s office. She did not appear to be wearing a seatbelt during the time of the accident.
Katie Ann Snyder, 26, Rugby, was transported to the Heart of America Medical Center by the Rugby Ambulance Service with numerous injuries. Snyder later passed away at the medical facility as a result of her injuries.
Responding agencies were: The Pierce County Sheriff’s Dept., Rugby Rural Fire Dept. Rugby Emergency Ambulance Service and the Rugby Police Dept.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol assisted with the investigation of the accident.
