HAMC Health Fair to be held

On Tuesday, April 10, the Heart of America Medical Center is sponsoring a Health Fair from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Rugby armory.

Many activities are planned such as glucose checks, free body fat testing, a pilates demo at lunchtime, massages, blood pressure checks, free balance assessments, scavenger hunt for kids, free hearing tests, home medical equipment on display and many more healthcare booths.

The HAMC Laboratory will be offering wellness labs for a small charge. No appointments necessary that day. The tests include cholesterol, hemoglobin, glucose, blood cell count and more. Men can receive a PSA tests for prostate cancer for an additional fee. People who want to take advantage of the wellness labs need to fast from eating or drinking for 12-16 hours prior to getting the tests.

Many items will be given away free. In fact, the first 50 attendees will receive free pedometers. Names will be drawn for door prizes throughout the day. Food and beverages will be available all day.

The Rugby Lions Club will be selling lunch and other goodies with the proceeds to benefit the Imagination Library project.
