Rugby features new shopping experience for Christmas

By Staff | Nov 25, 2011

The Rugby Chamber of Commerce is going all out this year with a Scratch and Win game. Over 38 businesses are offering a total of 20,000 prizes. A prize may be a cookie, or a cup of coffee, or a certain percentage off store items, or it could be cash.

Participating merchants will be giving out the tickets in their stores. Shoppers just scratch the ticket and look for a winner. One in four tickets wins.

A 2nd-Chance Drawing will be held on each of three Saturdays in December: the 3rd,10th, and 17th. Whether or not a scratch and win ticket is a winner, sign the back of it and deposit it in a bag designated for the 2nd-Chance drawing. This gives everyone a second chance to win. The drawings will be held at 1:30 p.m. just before the free movie. Winners will be announced on the radio.

Free family movies will be held at Centre Cinema on Main Avenue in Rugby on the three Saturdays. On Dec. 3 the movie is RIO. Kung Fu Panda II plays Dec. 10, and The Smurfs will be shown Dec. 17. The movies are being sponsored by 28 Rugby businesses.

Come and join in the fun of shopping in Rugby for the holidays. Everyone is welcome to browse the stores and will receive a ticket to scratch, and possibly win.
