The World on A String is a show in which America’s musical past is brought to life in an informative and entertaining narrative by Doug Mattocks.
The show is a story of Mattocks’ love of the instrument, the musicians who influenced him and the development of the Doug Mattocks-style of banjo playing.
He is very involved with the Disney Organization, The Desert Inn and Caesar’s Palace in Las Vega as well as Harrah’s in Lake Tahoe. Mattocks has shared the stage for well over a decade with comedian Jerry Van Dyke. In recent years, he has headlined with Holland America cruise ships.
From Bach to Bluegrass, Dixie Jazz to Broadway, Traditional Irish to Ragtime, The World on A String is pure musical fun. Some of the tunes will include Minstrel Medley, Oh Susanna, Entertainer Rag, St. Louis Blues, Dueling Banjos, Malaguena, and a Stephen Foster medley.
